Scientific monograph 'Student Brigade of the Army of the Republic of Srpska (1994-1995)', by the author Prof. Goran Latinović, PhD, was promoted on 4 November 2021 in the City Hall of ’Banski dvor’ Cultural Centre in Banja Luka.
Latinović pointed out that in the scientific monograph he tried to present the circumstances and reasons for forming the Student Brigade, which had 2,104 members, and nine of them were killed while defending the Republic of Srpska.
„The student brigade is not sufficiently represented in the culture of remembrance in the Republic of Srpska, and we lack the relevant scientific literature that would refer to the defence and patriotic war. That was the reason for writing the scientific monograph“, Latinović said.
Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, emphasized that the students and the academic community wanted to contribute to the defence of the homeland in all ways.
„This was a unique brigade, composed of students, professors and teaching assistants of our University“, Gajanin said, emphasizing that this monograph is also a memory of their courage.
Milorad Kojić, Director of the Republic Center for Research of War, War Crimes and Search for Missing Persons, pointed out that the scientific monograph is an important historical document, as judicial institutions in BH want to create an image of the war that does not correspond to the facts.
Reviewers also spoke about the scientific monograph. The University of Banja Luka and the Republic Center for Research of War, War Crimes and Search for Missing Persons are the publishers of the monograph.
