Learning objectives
Student training for the application of interactive learning and teaching methods in biology classes. Understanding learning as the interaction between students and teachers, students with each other, students and parents, peers... Transferring activities in the teaching process from teacher to students, enabling students to learn and work together on learning goals, content processing, application of what has been learned, and evaluation of the learning process. Training of students for the application of interactive methods, techniques, and procedures in biology teaching, to upgrade and improve educational work.
Learning outcomes
Getting to know the positive effects of interactive learning: favorable emotional climate in the class, higher levels of motivation, developing cooperation among students. Taking responsibility for learning outcomes by students.
Content
Interaction as a form of learning and teaching. Taxonomy of educational goals in the cognitive area and its importance for more effective individualization of learning and teaching. Interactive teaching of different levels of complexity. Interactive learning in problem teaching. Interactive learning in exemplary or paradigmatic teaching (we learn from examples, examples are instructive, examples explain). Programmed teaching. Active teaching. The nature of the learning process in active learning/teaching. Methods and forms of learning in active teaching. The new role of the teacher in active teaching. Social factors as a determinant of interactive learning. Forms of psychosocial interaction in interactive learning. Workshops as a framework for active learning: concept of workshop, way of conducting workshops. Applying the discovery learning method. Cooperative learning methods: student team achievement method, Team teaching. Methods of cooperative learning. Practical teaching. The exercises as a whole follow the lectures according to the mentioned topics with concrete examples of the processing of the teaching content from the teaching of biology in primary and secondary schools.
