University of Banja LukaGeneralThe lexicographical work entitled “Police Dictionary: Key Terms in German, English and Serbian” was recently published, authored by Jörg Hofreiter, PhD, Honorary Consul of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Austrian state of Styria, and the Slavist Jana Beller.
The preparation of the dictionary also involved Michael Resanović, librarian of the Austrian Library at the University of Banja Luka, who was one of the translators and was also responsible for transliterating the text into Cyrillic.
For many years, the authors have maintained successful cooperation with the Department of German Studies of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Banja Luka.
The publication was issued by the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska, with support from the Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in Austria.
The trilingual “Police Dictionary” represents a significant contribution to the professional and academic community. It is expected to be of great benefit to linguists, as well as to members of the police and security services in their daily work, and to contribute to the further development of international cooperation and better understanding between the institutions of the Republic of Srpska and the Republic of Austria..
