Establishing Cooperation with Egypt

On 7 October 2022, Rector of the University Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, and Ambassador of Egypt in Bosnia and Herzegovina Yasser Abdelrahman Ali Sorour talked about the potential cooperation of our higher education institution with the University of Cairo and the University of Alexandria.

The plan is to establish cooperation with Egyptian universities in the field of exchange of teaching and administrative staff, students, and joint participation in research projects.

During the meeting, held in Rector Gajanin's office, which was also attended by Vice-Rector for Material and Human Resources Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, and Dean of the Faculty of Philology Prof. Biljana Babić, PhD, there was talk of establishing an Egyptian corner at the Faculty of Philology.

As agreed, the Embassy of Egypt will equip the corner with contemporary literature in the fields of philology, political science, philosophy, tourism and other sciences, as well as with the necessary IT equipment. The interlocutors also exchanged information on potential scholarships to be given by Egypt.

The ambassador also visited the Faculty of Philology of the University of Banja Luka, where he attended a lecture by Prof. Branislav Anđelković, PhD, from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Belgrade entitled ’Egyptian Civilization and Its Reflection on Our Regions’.
