Rector Talked With the Ambassador of Romania

Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, talked with Ambassador of Romania to Bosnia and Herzegovina Anton Păcureţu on 5 October 2021. 

During the meeting at the Rectorate of the University of Banja Luka, cooperation between the University of Banja Luka and higher education institutions in Romania was discussed.

The interlocutors concluded that there already is cooperation between the academic communities, but that it can still be improved. Accordingly, it was agreed to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between the University of Banja Luka and the University of Sibiu in the upcoming period.

The Ambassador was also introduced to the current cooperation between members of the University of Banja Luka and higher education institutions from Romania, which is mainly reflected in the exchange of students and staff through Erasmus+ projects. 

Rector Gajanin expressed hope that the cooperation will continue in the forthcoming period, both through existing and new projects. The rector stated that he hopes that the cooperation will also be achieved through joint participation in scientific research projects funded by the European Union. 

One of the topics of this meeting was the exchange of library materials between the University of Banja Luka and Romanian universities.

The meeting was also attended by Minister-Counsellor for Political, Consular and Eonomic Affairs Cornel Burcea, and the Senior International and Interuniversity Cooperation Officer of the University Jelena Rožić, MA.
