    Learning objectives
    basic knowledge of the historical development and origins of social work as a profession, applied scientific disciplines and educational activities in the national and international context; insight into the continuity of the development of social work from voluntary to professional, scientific and educational activities.
    Learning outcomes
    Recognize the basic features of the development of international social work through the development of the profession and education of social work; Recognized continuity of social work development in BiH and Republika Srpska; Identify the stages of development of education for social work at the international and national level
    Content
    Social work as a human (voluntary) activity in a historical context; Stages of development of social work, considering the development of target-subject paradigms and theoretical concepts in social work; The roots of social work as a professional activity; The roots of social work as an educational activity in the United States and Europe; Pioneers of international social work and the contribution of significant individuals in the development of social work; Development of international social work; International Social Work Organizations; Genesis of international definition of social work; Significant international documents and dates relevant to social work; Development of social work as a professional and scientific activity in BiH and Republika Srpska; Development of social work in BiH and Republika Srpska through the development of the social protection system; Development of education for social work in BiH and Republika Srpska; Development of social work science in BiH and Republika Srpska; Development of professional identity of social workers, in accordance with the development of education for social work; The impact of changes in the economic, social and political spheres on the development and shaping of social work.
