UNIBL Student at a Camp in Japan
University of Banja LukaGeneralA third-year student of Applied Sociology at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Banja Luka, Emilija Grumić, participated in an international youth camp held from 15 to 21 December 2025 on the remote Japanese island of Tokunoshima, organized by the University of Tokyo.
During the seven-day program, filled with workshops, discussions, and intercultural exchange, participants discussed the culture of memory, the role of community, as well as contemporary challenges related to discrimination and inclusion. The camp provided an opportunity to reassess established perceptions of Japan and view it from a new perspective, while also enabling the exchange of experiences with peers from other countries.
Emilija Grumić returned from the camp enriched with new knowledge and strong impressions. The particular significance of her participation is reflected in the way she represented her study program and the University of Banja Luka.
The camp brought together students from Japan, the Philippines, the Republic of Srpska, and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including representatives of the University of Banja Luka, the University of Sarajevo, and the University of Mostar.
