Professor Gajanin elected Rector of the UNIBL

The Senate of the University of Banja Luka (UNIBL), on its 123rd session held on 25 December 2025, elected Professor Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, as the Rector of this higher education institution.

After the election, Prof. Gajanin pointed out that the emphasis in the new mandate will be put on further advancement and modernization of study programs, as well as establishing joint study programs with partner universities from abroad.

“Through joint study programs, students from other countries will have an opportunity to study at the University of Banja Luka, but also in the country with which the university cooperates with”, said Gajanin.

He added that new capital investments in the University are planned, and he stressed that the leadership will continue to give full support to students.

“There are many other plans. We will support all activities of our students that are rational, and I haven’t had any irrational requests from them so far”, said Rector Gajanin.

Professor Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, received the support of 22 members of the Senate, while six voted for Professor Boris Pašalić, PhD, and one ballot was declared invalid.

Rector’s mandate for the period 2026 – 2030 starts on 22 March 2026.
