The Science conference has been held

The Science Conference at the University of Banja Luka was held on 14 November 2025 at the Students’ Cultural Center of the UNIBL.

This event is one of the most significant ones at the University, and it is organized within the 50 years anniversary of the successful work and development of this higher education institution. During the conference, teachers and associates presented their works published in international reference journals, as well as scientific and research projects.

The Vice-Rector for Scientific Research Activity and Development at UNIBL, Prof. Aleksandar Ostojić, PhD, said that according to the Decision by the Steering Board of the University of Banja Luka, financial rewards have been awarded in the total amount of Gross 119.100 KM, for the scientific and research achievements in 2024.

“76 professors and associates were rewarded for the authorship of indexed scientific papers with a total amount of 102.100 KM. Besides them, 18 professors and associates who were managers, coordinators, or participants in international scientific research projects, received rewards in the amount of 11.000 KM, said Ostojić, adding that most of the rewarded were from the field of natural, medical, and health sciences.

Also rewarded were the coordinators and contact persons of Erasmus+ projects within Key Action 2 – capacity building, who were awarded 5.000 KM Gross. The University also awarded a recognition to a Docent at the Academy of Arts, M.Sc. Miodrag Manojlović, for exceptional artistic achievements at the international level, in the amount of 1.000 KM Gross.

Assistant Minister for Scientific Technological Development and Higher Education of the Republic of Srpska, Zoran Bjelajac, pointed out that strong support will be continued to scientific and research structures. He emphasized that the Science Conference confirmed that local experts can participate in the global science scene as equal partners.

“It is backed by the fact that their papers have been published in international reference journals,” said Bjelajac at the conference where teachers and associates presented their works and projects.

A librarian of the Institute of Technical Sciences at the Serbian Academy of Science and Arts, Milica Ševkušić, pointed out that access to scientific research should be free and open. She stressed that supporting scientific journals brings quality to publications and higher international visibility.

The Vice-Rector for Human and Material Resources, Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, also addressed the present audience.
