Promotion of the Monograph about 50 years of the University of Banja Luka

Promotion of the Monograph “University of Banja Luka 1975-2025” by Prof. Ljubiša Preradović, PhD, Prof. Miroslav Malinović, PhD, and Associate Prof. Nikola Ožegović, PhD, was held in the Students’ Cultural Center at the University of Banja Luka on 26 November 2025.

Rector of the University, Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, Editor in Chief of the Monograph and Vice-Rector for Human and Material resources, Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, reviewer of the publication, Academician Prof. Dragoljub Mirjanić, PhD, and the authors.

The Monograph brings a comprehensive overview of the 50 years of development of the University, from its beginning and institutional strengthening to contemporary achievements, scientific results, infrastructure investments, and international cooperation. Events, persons, and processes that shaped the University as one of the leading higher education institutions in the Republic of Srpska and the region, were particularly mentioned.

“With great joy and pride we are presenting the scientific Monograph ‘University of Banja Luka (1975-2025)’, made for the occasion of a big jubilee – 50 years since the establishing of UNIBL. It is a capital publication that documents and interprets the development path of the University”, said Rector Gajanin. 

He added that the Monograph will be a referential study for future research in the field of higher education, social history, culture, and public administration.

Rector emphasized that the Monograph includes the development of the University in a wider social context – from changes in the teaching and introducing new study programs, to the growth of scientific-research production, international cooperation, and students’ achievement. 

“It testifies that the University is not only a place of knowledge acquisition, but a pillar of social development”, he said.

The Editor in Chief of the Monograph, Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, emphasized that the publication is a result of the dedicated work of numerous authors and experts who contributed to presenting the development of the University over 5 decades in one publication.

 “This monograph is not only a book, but it is a document about the role of the University in society and scientific activity. I believe it will serve as an inspiration to future generations”, said Kesić.

One of the authors, Prof. Miroslav Malinović, PhD, emphasized that the development of the University in material, scientific, and educational sense is evident, and added it would be very difficult to single out one most significant achievement. 

“I would put the emphasis on scientific research activity and cooperation with the real sector, for we are proud of the cadre we educated in all fields”, said Malinović.

The Monograph “University of Banja Luka 1975-2025” represents a significant document on the development and role of the University, and an inspiration for future generations in the Republic of Srpska and beyond.
