AcrossRepresentatives of the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Vojislav Dukić, PhD, and Senior Assistant Srđan Bilić, MA, visited the University of Udine from November 12 to 17, 2025, as part of the Across Alliance activities.
During their stay, the hosts – Prof. Giorgio Alberti, PhD, and Associate Prof. Antonio Tomao, PhD, organized lectures, field visits, and technical discussions, contributing to the strengthening of the partnership between the two institutions.
Our professors held two expert lessons for third-year students (DI4A) on the topics “Managing the forests in Bosnia and Herzegovina – current state and challenges,” and “Rain Forests of Bosnia and Herzegovina – an overview of research to date.”
Besides the lectures, they participated in field visits in the Italian Alps (Promozio), where the students conducted practical exercises in dendrometry, geodetic measurement, GNSS tree positioning, pedology, photogrammetry with drones, and spatial modeling in the QGIS application. The activities were performed in cooperation with the CESFAM center, through a three-day field program that included the forests of Beech, Fir, Spruce, and European Larch.
