A reception for professors who have retired was held on 7 October 2025 at the Rectorate of the University of Banja Luka, as a token of gratitude for their many years of work, dedication, and significant contribution to the development of the University, teaching, and science.
Addressing the attendees, the Rector of the University of Banja Luka, prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, emphasised that the professors whose employment ended as of 30 September 2025 left a deep mark on the academic community and influenced generations of students they educated.
“Your work and commitment are built into the foundations of the University of Banja Luka. Through your example, you have shown what dedication to knowledge, responsibility, and love for the vocation of a university professor means,” the Rector said, expressing gratitude on behalf of the entire academic community.
In conversation with our retired colleagues, the Rector reiterated that the doors of the University are always open to all who have dedicated their careers to this institution and that their experience and advice will continue to be invaluable.
The formal reception, also attended by the vice-rector for teaching, student affairs and quality, prof. Milica Balaban, PhD, took place in a pleasant and cordial atmosphere, accompanied by the sharing of memories and recollections of years spent in teaching, research, and the academic community.
The retired professors who attended the reception, prof. Snježana Popović Pejčić, PhD, and prof. Nina Janjić, PhD, thanked the University leadership for the attention and respect shown to them, noting that this gesture represents a great honour and an encouragement to remain part of the university community even after retirement.
In organising such receptions, the University of Banja Luka reaffirms its commitment to nurturing academic values and respecting its professors, whose work forms the foundation of the success and reputation of this institution.
