Vice-Rector Balaban at a Conference in China, Memorandum of Cooperation Signed

The Vice-Rector for Teaching, Student Affairs and Quality at the University of Banja Luka, prof. Milica Balaban, PhD, is on a working visit to the People’s Republic of China under the foreign experts programme.

On 12 September 2025, prof. Balaban took part in the China–Central and Eastern European Countries Conference on Cooperation and Exchange between Industry, Universities and Research Institutions, held in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province.

This prestigious event, organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China with the support of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology, brought together representatives of the academic community, industry and research centres.

Within the section on advanced manufacturing processes, prof. Balaban presented an overview of the latest research in the field of valorisation of waste biomass from food and agricultural production.

The conference was also an opportunity to strengthen partnerships with institutions and the business sector from China. On this occasion, a Memorandum of Cooperation was also signed between the University of Banja Luka, Jiangsu University and the well-known food company “Zhenjiang Liuhengji”.
