The University of Banja Luka (UNIBL) presented its publishing at the 30th International Book Fair “Banja Luka 2025”, which is taking place from 16 to 22 September in the Banja Luka Sports Hall “Borik”.

Visitors can view university textbooks, Proceedings, monographs, magazines, and other publications issued by the University, providing them with an opportunity to become acquainted with the institution's actual scientific and technical output.

“Over the course of 30 years, the Book fair has become one of the leading promoters of printed publications and written words in the Serbian language. Millenia passed since the invention of books, but its essence remained basically the same – to connect people and civilizations through centuries,” pointed an author, dramaturg and academician Dušan Kovačević, who formally opened the jubilar 30th International Book Fair “Banja Luka 2025”, organized by “Glas Srpske”.

“This city has changed since. There is a new energy and a desire to defend all that was obtained through sacrifice and suffering. I came to Banja Luka today as a small European capital of culture. Today, it is the capital of a country that is independent in all respects. Free books need a free state and free people. This Fair, among others, reminds us that culture here did not vanish, despite those who bombed us five times in the 20th century, burning libraries and the overall cultural heritage of our people”, stressed Kovačević.

The President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, during the opening of the 30th International Book Fair said that the spirituality and culture nourish the identity of the Serb people, and that there would not be the Republic of Srpska without books, knowledge and the young.
Dodik wished the organizers, publishers, writers, and visitors a successful fair, and expressed hope that it will continue to be organized in the coming years and decades.

The Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska, Borivoje Golubović, said that the International Book Fair has been bringing together the publishers, writers, interpreters, and readers for 30 years, building bridges of cultural cooperation and preserving the written word as the highest expression of spiritual and national identity.

The theme of this year’s Fair includes presenting the production of local and foreign publishers, meetings with authors, and a rich accompanying program. The Book Fair in Banja Luka gives an opportunity for the promotion of new publications, meeting the publishers, and getting acquainted with popular writers from the region.

The opening hours of the Fair are from 10.00 to 20.00 hours, and the admission is 1 KM. The first Book Fair in Banja Luka was held in 1996, and it was opened by the academician Matija Bećković. Today, three decades later, this event became the most important one regarding authors, books, and publishers in the Republic of Srpska.
