University of Banja LukaGeneralThe international REDETE conference, held at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Banja Luka on 11 and 12 September 2025, brought together leading economists and experts from 15 countries in the region and Europe.
The topic of this year’s edition was “Economic Integration and Sustainable Development in the Western Balkans”, with special reference to the European Union’s initiatives to accelerate the enlargement process. The event was organised in cooperation with the Polytechnic University of Ancona, and with support from the Faculty of Economics from East London, whose prestigious journal publishes the best papers from this event.
Special sessions and round tables were held within the conference, dedicated to smart specialisation, research and development, as well as presentations of joint projects that the Faculty of Economics of the University of Banja Luka is implementing with universities from Novi Sad, Niš, Ulm, Milan and other countries.
“We always strive for the REDETE conference to connect the academic community, industry and policymakers, and it is especially important for us that young researchers have the opportunity to present their papers”, emphasised the Dean of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Banja Luka, prof. Milenko Krajišnik, PhD.
At the opening of the conference, which has been held since 2011, participants were also addressed by the Vice-Rector for Human and Material Resources of the University of Banja Luka, prof.
