Rector Gajanin at the session of the Rectors’ Board of Across Alliance

Rector of the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, participated in the session of the Rectors’ Board of Across Alliance held in the premises of the University of Nova Gorica on 25 September 2025.

Along with the Rector, the Vice-Rector for Human and Material Resources, Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, also participated in the event.

During the session, the Consortium Agreement of the Across Alliance was signed.

The Rectors’ Board decides on the strategic development of Across Alliance, bearing in mind the long-term cooperation within the Alliance, and among its members. The Board ensures that the priorities of each institution are harmonized with the common vision and that relevant managing bodies actively participate in all activities of Across Alliance.

Composed of rectors, or presidents appointed in accordance with the regulations of partner institutions, the Rectors’ Board represents the highest decision-making body of the consortium. It is responsible for the structure of membership, monitoring the realization of goals and project results, as well as for other key activities.

The Board also has a significant role in promoting activities of the working teams in the universities and in improving cooperation with strategic partners, particularly in cross-border regions.

What is Across?

Across Alliance gathers ten European universities, including the University of Banja Luka, Bialystok University of Technology, University of Technology from Chemnitz, University of Craiova, University of Girona, University of Nova Gorica, University of Perpignan, University of Udine, “Angel Kanchev” University of Ruse, and one associated partner, the “Ivan Franco” National University of Lviv.

The mission of the Alliance is to provide students with an authentic experience of learning through cross-border cooperation and resolving challenges in bordering regions. The goal is also to improve the ambient for life-long learning, satisfying different academic and professional needs, and ensuring the flexibility adjusted to individual circumstances.

Basic goals of the Alliance include strengthening cooperation in the higher education sector, empowering internationalization and digitalization, creating joint study programs and improving the ties between the academic community, the economy sector, and civil society.
