Professor Miljan Cvetković lectures in Turkey

Full Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Banja Luka, Miljan Cvetković, PhD, will be a Lecturer at the prestigious 27th International Festival of Apple and Agriculture, which is taking place in the Turkish city of Çivril from 11 to 14 September 2025.

The invitation was sent by the municipality of Çivril and the Mayor, Semih Dere, and it is a significant contribution to strengthening the international academic cooperation in the field of fruit growing.

Prof. Cvetković will hold a lecture at the symposium “Fruit growing and Agriculture in Çivril” on Friday, 12 September, the second day of the festival. The local farmers will have the opportunity, for the first time, to get academic support from an international expert. In his lecture, Prof. Cvetković will pass on the scientific knowledge about the growing and marketing of apples, novelties in the growing systems based on research conducted in the Experimental-educative center of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Banja Luka.

Along with Prof. Cvetković, lectures at the event will be held by Prof. Jakub Özkan, PhD, from the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Osmangazi, and Prof. Tansu Uskutoglu, PhD and Prof. Hajri Sağlam, PhD, from the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Pamukkale.

The significance of the event is best illustrated by the fact that Çivril is one of the leading centers of fruit growing in Turkey, manufacturing about 20 percent of total apple production in the country, which is in the 4th place in the world with nearly 4.2 million tons annually.
