Prof. Verica Pavlić member of the Science Committee of the World Dental Federation
University of Banja LukaGeneral-A full professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Banja Luka and a member of the Republic of Srpska Chamber of Dentists, Verica Pavlić, PhD, has been elected member of the Science Committee of the World Dental Federation (FDI), the highest expert and advisory body of this international organisation, which shapes global guidelines and policies in the field of dentistry.
The election of prof. Pavlić, PhD, was confirmed at the 79th session of the FDI General Assembly, held as part of the FDI World Dental Congress 2025 from 09 to 12 September in Shanghai. In addition to Dr Pavlić, the event was attended by the president of the Republic of Srpska Chamber of Dentists, Dr Saša Dabić.
The FDI General Assembly brought together leaders from health systems, dental chambers, regulatory bodies and professional associations from around the world. At the proposal of the Republic of Srpska Chamber of Dentists, the FDI Council confirmed the election of prof. Pavlić, PhD, making her the first representative of the Republic of Srpska to be elected to the FDI Science Committee.
This appointment is an exceptional achievement for the profession, as well as a significant scholarly and professional achievement for the University of Banja Luka, confirming the high quality of our staff on the international stage. At the same time, it contributes to strengthening the visibility and role of higher education in shaping global health policies.
Significance of the appointment
Membership in the FDI Science Committee enables prof. Pavlić, PhD, to participate actively in the drafting of international guidelines and recommendations in dentistry, make a direct contribution to the development of contemporary therapeutic and preventive strategies, promote domestic knowledge and experience on the world stage, and advance standards and education in dentistry in line with global principles.
