Prof. Miroslav Malinović participated in “BRAUIC 2025” forum
University of Banja LukaGeneralAssistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy of the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Miroslav Malinović, PhD, participated in the “BRAUIC 2025” forum, which was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from 25 to 27 September 2025.
This year’s Forum was dedicated to the topic “Global horizons: International partnerships for education in architecture and civil engineering in the era of transformations”, and the host was the University KazGASA (Kazakh Leading Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering) from Almaty.
BRAUIC (Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium) is an international consortium that gathers universities with study programs in the field of architecture and civil engineering, with particular focus on countries supporting the “Belt and Road” initiative, and the University of Banja Luka is its long-standing member.
A rich and eventful program of this year’s forum included plenary sessions and panel discussions with university participants from more than 35 countries, and presented goals and achievements of BRAUIC consortium, as well as plans for strengthening academic cooperation and student mobility. The focus was also directed to thematic sessions dedicated to preservation and promotion of architectural heritage, digital architecture (BIM; AI, VR/AR), green technologies and sustainable building, urban development and smart cities, as well as innovations in the field of teaching architecture and civil engineering.
The forum was an opportunity to hold an annual meeting of the consortium, where new cooperation agreements were signed, new members were admitted, experiences were exchanged, and examples of good practices were presented, confirming the role of BRAUIC as the leading international platform for integration of science, education, and industry in the field of architecture and civil engineering.
