Student of the Academy Wins Top Prize in Official Gazette Contest

At the competition for the best short story, organized by the Official Gazette of the Republic of Srpska, the first prize was awarded to the story “Sapiens 2062” by Andrija Lazić, a second-year student of Film and TV Directing at the Academy of Arts, University of Banja Luka.

According to the Official Gazette, the competition received 39 submissions from young authors aged 18 to 35 residing in the Republic of Srpska. Eighteen stories were shortlisted, and the expert jury—chaired by writer Stevo Grabovac, with members Milan Milošević and Danijela Joksimović—selected three winning stories, as well as seven additional works distinguished by their quality and originality.

Among them was the story “Masazeus” by Đorđe Čarkić, a Dramaturgy student at the Academy of Arts, University of Banja Luka, which will be published along with the other selected works in an anthology of young authors from the Republic of Srpska.

The organizers took the opportunity to thank all participants for their contributions to the quality of the competition and announced that this valuable initiative will continue in the coming years. It was emphasized that the stories of young authors showcased the power of ideas and confirmed that the future of literature in the Republic of Srpska holds a bright perspective.
