UNIBL and NUIST established cooperation
University of Banja LukaGeneralThe University of Banja Luka (UNIBL) and the University of Information Science and Technology in Nanjing (NUIST), P.R. of China, formalized the beginning of academic cooperation by signing the MoU.
The original copies of this significant document were exchanged during the visit of the Chief of Office for International and Inter-university Cooperation at UNIBL, M.Sc. Djordje Kenjalo, to the aforementioned Chinese university in the period from 2 to 5 July 2025.
The visit was realized in the organization of the College for International Education at the NUIST, hosted by the Director of College, Prof. Li Jan. During the stay in Nanjing, Kenjalo had meetings with the Office for International Relations, as well as Vice-Deans and teaching staff of multiple faculties, including the School for Computer Science, School for Artificial Intelligence, School for Environmental Engineering, Business School, School of Liberal Arts, and School of Art.
Main topics of discussion were defining compatible fields of action and identifying concrete modalities of future cooperation. The signed memorandum foresees a number of activities, including exchange of students and academic staff, joint scientific projects, co-authorship of publications, and promotion of academic events and initiatives.
It is important to stress that the initiative for establishing the cooperation came from the Confucius Institute at the University of Banja Luka.
The University of Information Science and Technology in Nanjing, established in 1960, is one of key higher education institutions in China and a holder of the “double first class” status. With over 40.000 regular students, out of which some 1.300 foreign students, and more than 2000 teaching staff, this university is a globally relevant educational and research institution. Some of their fields, such as computer science and atmospheric science, are at the top of the global academic community.
