Participating in the Summer School in Poland
University of Banja LukaGeneralAcrossRepresentatives of the University of Banja Luka (UNIBL) stayed at the University of Technology in Bialystok, Poland, where they participated in several summer schools.
The Vice-Rector for International and Inter-University Cooperation, Prof. Kristina Pantelić Babić, PhD, Associate Professor Milana Grbić, PhD, Prof. Miroslav Malinović, PhD, and students of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Nemanja Petrović and Aleksandra Jeremić, went to this program in Poland.
Prof. Pantelić Babić and Associate Prof. Grbić participated as lecturers at the Summer School “Building a Sustainable and Diverse Team” at the University of Technology in Bialystok from 30 June to 9 July 2025.
They jointly held a lecture within the module titled “Diversity and Team Sustainability through the Lens of Sports and Computing” on 1 July, where they presented the principles of sustainability diversity in teams through similarities and differences in spheres of sport and information science.
The following day, they presented the module “Diversity and Sustainability in Scientific teams: Building Research and Projects,“ dedicated to challenges and possibilities of scientific research activity in multidisciplinary teams. The workshops were attended by students of all study cycles from India, Kazakhstan, Poland, Croatia, and other countries.
The Summer School gathered over 120 participants from among the teaching staff and students from different countries and academic fields, with the aim of developing knowledge and skills necessary for building sustainable and diverse teams, with particular emphasis on intercultural cooperation, innovations, and sustainable policies in education and scientific institutions.
On the other hand, Prof. Miroslav Malinović, PhD, delivered a lecture “Urban Revisions: The Architectural Rebranding of Banja Luka under the Kingdom of Yugoslavia” and a workshop “Recognizing the Identity and Brand at Home” within two Summer Schools – VIPSKILLS and GLOCAL. The students of the University of Banja Luka actively participated in VIPSKILLS school.
This participation is a significant contribution to the internationalization of the University of Banja Luka and strengthening the regional cooperation in the field of higher education and science, especially within the European University Alliance – Across.
Students who showed interest in the University of Banja Luka during the Summer Schools were informed about the possibility of cooperation and mobility, as well as the organization of the scientific-technical conference “Students Encounter Science,” which is an excellent chance for networking and strengthening cooperation among young researchers.
