UNIBL is realizing cooperation with the University of Basel

The Rector of the University of Banja Luka (UNIBL), Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, met with the Vice-Rector for Research Activity at the University of Basel, Prof. Primo Sheer, PhD, on 13 June 2025.

During the meeting in the Cabinet of the Rector of UNIBL, they discussed the improvement of the academic cooperation between the two universities, with a focus on joint scientific research projects, exchange of students and academic staff.

As it was said, it is expected that the Cooperation Agreement between the two institutions will be signed before the start of the next academic year. The signing of this document will be a significant step towards strengthening the international visibility of the University of Banja Luka, and expanding its research capacities.

The meeting between the Rector of UNIBL and the Vice-Rector of the University of Basel was also attended by the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Switzerland, Prof. Boro Bronza, PhD, the Vice-Rector for Human and Material Resources of the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, and the Dean of the faculty of Medicine at UNIBL, Prof. Ranko Škrbić, PhD.

The University of Basel, established in 1460, is the oldest one in Switzerland, with more than 550 years of tradition. As an all-encompassing higher education institution with an international reputation, it offers high-quality study programs at all levels, and today has about 13.000 students from more than 100 countries. With seven faculties and excellent research results, the University of Basel is regularly among the top 100 in the world.
