Rector Gajanin meets the Singapore delegation

Rector of the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, met the Honorary Consul of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Singapore, Mr. Daniel Cheah, and the CEO of the company The Growhub, Mr. Lester Chan, on 23 June 2025.

The topic of the discussion was establishing cooperation between the University of Banja Luka and the company The Growhub Ltd., whose solutions are based on the application of blockchain technologies in various industries, with a focus on monitoring the production and distribution of food, and the carbon credit system.

They agreed that there is significant potential for joint projects. The possible cooperation would make the University of Banja Luka the first partner of The Growhub Ltd. company in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the fields of operation of the said company.

In the course of this cooperation, the professors and associates of the University would deal with topics such as the application of blockchain technologies in food supply chains, improving the transability of products, modelling and analysis of data regarding emissions of greenhouse gases, as well as developing systems for monitoring and exchange of carbon credits. Particular attention will be paid to the advancement of mechanisms based on blockchain technology in the aim of transparency and sustainability. This cooperation would open the possibility of technical advancement, exchange of knowledge, and interconnection with international scientific institutions and researchers.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Brussels, Mario Đuragić, and Prof. Miroslav Malinović, PhD.

The University of Banja Luka continues to develop networks of international cooperation, with the aim of strengthening the scientific research capacities and application of science with the aim of sustainable development and welfare of the society.
