Asst. Prof. Dr Nikola Ožegović at the Conference in Tuva
University of Banja LukaGeneralAssistant Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Banja Luka, Dr Nikola Ožegović participated in the Fourth All-Russian Scientific Conference “Nomadic Civilizations of the Peoples of Central and Northern Asia: History, Present State, and Issues,” held on 19 and 20 June 2025 in Kyzyl, the capital of the Republic of Tuva in the Russian Federation.
Within the section dedicated to migration processes in history and the present day, Dr Ožegović presented a paper titled “Slavic Settlement of the Balkan Peninsula in the Early Middle Ages: Social Organization, Way of Life, and Customs,” in which he also discussed key features of early medieval Serbian history. The conference gathered researchers from the Russian Federation and former Soviet republics.
Dr Ožegović also attended a working meeting with the Rector of the Tuvan State University, Prof. Dr Olga Matpaevna Khomushku. In addition to the national museum and other landmarks, the conference participants visited some of the most important archaeological sites across the region, which bear witness to the ancient civilizations that once inhabited this part of the geographic center of Asia.
