An international conference “NanoPol 2025” was held
Science and developmentGeneralInternational Conference “NanoPol 2025,” titled “Nanomaterials and polymers – applied chemistry for sustainable development,” was held on 11 and 12 June 2025.
The conference gathered scientists, researchers, and representatives of the academic community from the country and abroad for the fourth time, and focused on the latest scientific achievements in the field of nanomaterials and polymers, with the emphasis on sustainable development, environmental impact, production, processing, recycling, and safety.
The Acting Dean of the faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the University of Banja Luka (PMF UNIBL), Prof. Goran Trbić, PhD, said that the basic goal of the conference is promotion of natural sciences and scientific results, emphasizing the importance of cooperation with the economics sector in the Republic of Srpska and the Federation BiH.
“We are glad to be able to promote the natural sciences and achievements of our scientists, but also the young colleagues,” said Trbić.
The Vice-Rector for teaching process, students’ issues, and quality at the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Milica Balaban, PhD, said that the conference is primarily dedicated to young researchers, assistants and students who, as she said, “have a chance already in their student’s days at the PMF to feel the magic of science in the study program Chemistry.”
Professor Suzana Gotovac Atlagić, PhD, spoke at the formal opening of the conference at the PMF UNIBL, and pointed out that in this area there are serious companies that deal with producing Zeolite and similar materials, stressing the importance of connecting science and industry in the context of sustainable development.
The conference was organized by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the University of Banja Luka and the Innovation Center Banja Luka.
