Assist. Prof. Mastikosa a Member of the Jury at a Music Competition in Italy
GeneralDavid Mastikosa, MA, Assistant Professor at the Academy of Arts, University of Banja Luka, has been serving as a member of the international jury at the 13th edition of the International Music Competition "Concorso musicale internazionale Città di Palmanova", in the Premio Internazionale Nuove Musiche category, held on 04 May 2025 in Palmanova, Italy.
Alongside Assist. Prof. Mastikosa, the jury included prominent artists and pedagogues: composer and professor Aleksandra Vrebalov from Serbia, who lives and works in the United States; conductor and composer Berislav Šipuš from Croatia; pianist and educator Paul Gamurari from Moldova; and the jury president, music creator Mario Pagoto from Italy.
As part of this competition, which runs until 10 May, Assist. Prof. Mastikosa also participated in the international conference entitled "Young Music for a Young Europe", supported by the Central European Initiative (CEI). The event brought together artists, educators and cultural workers from CEI member states and the UNESCO network “Venetian Works of Defence”, with the aim of exchanging experiences and perspectives in the field of arts education.
In his presentation, Assistant Professor Mastikosa spoke about his artistic practice, the contemporary cultural scene, and arts education in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with particular emphasis on the activities and significance of the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka.
