Across Alliance: Call for Applications for Competition Participation

The competition entitled “AI-based tools for metrics in education, STEM and social sciences” within the Across Alliance will be held on 4 June 2025 in a hybrid format – online via various video platforms and in person at the INCESA Centre in Craiova, Romania. 

This event will gather young researchers from Across universities with the aim of developing innovative AI solutions to facilitate the identification and classification of scientific papers.

Eligible participants include master’s and doctoral students, as well as postdoctoral researchers from universities that are part of the Across Alliance. Teams may consist of up to five members, with a mandatory minimum of three students and one team leader. Each team must be formed within the same university, and a maximum of five teams may represent a single institution. The overall number of teams is limited to 15.

Participants will have the opportunity to work in teams to develop intelligent recommendation systems using technologies such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn and Google Colab. At the start of the event, organisers will provide the dataset, and communication during the event will be conducted via the Slack platform.

In addition to opportunities for learning and networking, the best participants will recive valuable prizes. The winning team will be awarded a research visit to the University of Girona in Spain, along with a EUR 100 voucher on Amazon for each member. The second-placed team will receive vouchers of the same value, while the third-placed team will be awarded vouchers worth EUR 50. Other participants will receive an Amazon voucher of EUR 20.
