A study visit of the UNIBL representatives to Ljubljana
GeneralRepresentatives of the University of Banja Luka (UNIBL) paid a study visit to the Research Center of the Slovenian Academy of Science and Art in Ljubljana, within the project RETLAMI-SEE.
A three-day visit took place from 28 to 30 May 2025. It was prepared in cooperation with the Institute of Culture and Remembrance, and enabled the exchange of experiences, technical dialogue and networking with Slovenian colleagues.
On the first day, participants were acquainted with the work of the Research Center of the Slovenian Academy of Science and Art and the Institute of Culture and Remembrance, and the ways in which this institution supports excellence in researching through centralized and targeted support mechanisms. The following day, the emphasis was on presenting the organizational structure of offices for project support, internal processes, and managing mechanisms. The Center for Development and Research Support at the University of Banja Luka presented its activities.
During the bilateral meetings, the project coordinator Anđela Pepić, PhD, spoke to the Director of the Institute of Culture and Remembrance, Tanja Petrović, PhD, and Ana Hofman, PhD, about the implementation of projects, preparation of the upcoming international conference in Banja Luka, and integration of a gender dimension in researching migrations, labor and social transformation. Additional insights into these issues were provided by Jovana Mihajlović Trbovac, PhD.
The participants also visited Delavska svetovalnica, an organization that provides support to the migrant labor force. They talked to Goran Lukić and presented the work of the organization and the challenges the migrants face in Slovenia.
A Senior Assistant at the Faculty of Political Sciences Mirjana Damjenić Bratić, MA, discussed the visualization of quantitative and narrative data with Miha Peče, and professors Gregor Pobežin, PhD, Edis LoziĆ, PhD, and Benjamin Štular, PhD. She continued the cooperation with Tanja Petrović, PhD, within the mentoring scheme of the RETLAMI-SEE project.
In parallel with scientific activities, the staff of the University of Banja Luka participated in sessions with support services at the Research center of the Slovenian Academy of Science and Art, exchanging experiences on administration of projects within Horizon Europa program, financial reporting, harmonization with domestic regulations and rules of the European Commission, as well as practices in the field of open science.
The visit to the Research Center of the Slovenian Academy of Science and Art has strengthened the cooperation between the partners in RETLAMI-SEE project and enabled the acquisition of practical knowledge and insights into international standards in research and science management.
