Marko Ivanišević, MA, on a Study Visit to Manchester

Senior Teaching Assistant at the Spatial Planning Study Programme of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Banja Luka, Marko Ivanišević, MA, visited Manchester from 6 to 13 April 2025 as part of the UK-BiH Fellowship programme.

The study visit focused on spatial planning and natural disaster management, with the aim of exchanging experiences and transferring knowledge among professionals.

During the visit, Mr Ivanišević attended a series of lectures and meetings with relevant institutions, including

Leeds City Council, Manchester City Council, the Greater Manchester Risk Management and Resilience Sector, the Environment Agency (Office for Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire), and the University of Salford – School of Science, Engineering and Environment.

In addition to the theoretical component, the programme included targeted field visits, allowing participants to observe first-hand the implemented solutions in areas such as climate change adaptation, flood protection and the application of nature-based solutions.

Such programmes provide significant support in strengthening capacities in the field of spatial planning and climate resilience, and facilitate professional networking and the enhancement of cooperation between the academic community and practitioners in this area.

The UK-BiH Fellowship is an exchange and professional development programme implemented by the British Council with the support of the Government of the United Kingdom.
