Associate Professor Mijatović published his work in a prestigious magazine
General-A Docent at the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy of the University of Banja Luka, Ognjen Mijatović, PhD, published a scientific paper in a renowned international magazine, Results in Engineering, which holds an impact factor 6.
The paper titled „A new experimental approach for assessing the impact of surface harshness on the response of the construction“ is a result of a several-year research work, and a particular scientific value is development of an experiment within the research, which, due to its originality, was named after the author — Mijatović's experiment (Mijatović Rig).
Mijatović said he worked on this research for five to six years, and he designed a completely new experiment, unique in the world, to show that changes in surface harshness at a nano level have significant impact on friction and overall behavior of the observed sample.
,,Special characteristic of this experiment is that its effect cannot be fully explained with existing physics and mathematical models. It is necessary to develop new theoretical frameworks, practically new physics, which could explain this phenomenon. I hope I will give a contribution in that sense in the next ten years”, said Mijatović.
