Ambassador of the Czech Republic Visits the Faculty of Agriculture
GeneralThe Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jana Lolić Šinderková, visited the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Banja Luka on 24 April 2025, where she held discussions with the Faculty management regarding past and future cooperation.
The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Zlatan Kovačević, PhD, presented the results of previous cooperation with higher education institutions from the Czech Republic through joint research projects and mobility programmes, as well as future activities planned in this direction.
During the visit, the Ambassador and her associate, Štěpán Šantrůček, Head of Development Cooperation at the Embassy, together with Prof. Željko Vaško, PhD, and Milan Šipka, MA, visited three research sites, for experiments with a green roof, green parking and green wall, which are being conducted near the Faculty in cooperation with the AdMaS Centre of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Brno University of Technology.
These initiatives are part of projects financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, with the support of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As emphasised, these projects demonstrate that faculties are not only educational but also scientific research institutions that develop and demonstrate new technologies. It was noted that these are multidisciplinary research initiatives aimed at improving environmental protection and increasing energy efficiency.
Furthermore, these research sites serve as demonstration centres for students, professors and professionals from various fields, who can directly observe and apply new technological solutions on site. The results of these research activities will be published in scientific papers, and interested parties will have the opportunity to become familiar with the technical and other parameters under different climatic conditions.
