Open Doors Day: University Hosted Future Students

On 7 April 2023, the Open Doors Day of the University of Banja Luka, welcomed over 2,000 high school graduates from all over the Republic of Srpska, who had the opportunity to learn about the possibilities of studying at the leading university.

Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, says that the Open Doors Day is an opportunity for graduates to get all the necessary information about the study programmes offered at our higher education institution.

According to him, the University enters the new academic year with new study programmes of all study cycles. As he pointed out in his speech delivered to the future students, education and accommodation for students are free, which is one of the reasons why they choose one of the study programmes offered at 16 faculties and the Academy.

Minister for Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society Asst. Prof. Željko Budimir, PhD, said that the Government constantly invests in the University, which is the backbone of higher education in the Republic of Srpska.

“Free studies and accommodation in student dormitories help our students to have the best possible study conditions”, Budimir said.

Vice-President of the Students’ Union of the Republic of Srpska, Vladan Gačić, said that secondary schools from all over the Republic of Srpska responded to the Open Day and that this is important for the promotion of the University — to make it even more recognizable.

President of the Students’ Parliament of the University of Banja Luka, Andrej Ševa, thanked the Government and the relevant ministry for their support. Ševa pointed out that in addition to the Open Doors Day, the Faculty Festival was also organized, as well as visits to all faculties and the Academy of Arts, where graduates were informed about the enrollment and student standards.

In addition to the deans and vice-deans of the University of Banja Luka members, the Open Doors Day, which was organized within the Day of Students, was also attended by the vice-rectors of the University, Prof. Milica Balaban, PhD, and Prof. Miroslav Malinović, PhD, Director of RS University Clinical Center Prof. Vlado Đajić, MD, Director of the “Nikola Tesla” Student Center Dragoslav Topić, and representatives of the City of Banja Luka.

Prior to the Open Doors Day, the rector and the relevant minister, accompanied by the deans, went to see the works on the construction of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy and the Faculty of Forestry, as well as the Student Cultural Center, which are being equipped with the RS Government funds.
