Rector Gajanin Took Part in the Congress of the Eurasian Association of Universities

Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, attended the 15th Congress of the Eurasian Association of Universities (EAU), held on 2 March 2023 at the V. M. Lomonosov Moscow State University.

Representatives of 125 universities from 18 countries worldwide participated in the Congress, which was presided over by the President of the EAU, Rector of the Moscow State University, Academician Viktor Antonovich Sadovnichiy.

The main topic considered was how to develop and improve research and educational cooperation in Eurasia.

In his speech, Rector Gajanin presented the most important information about the University of Banja Luka, and pointed out that the relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Srpska are on an upward trajectory, including the academic level.

“The University of Banja Luka cooperates with over 30 universities from the territory of the Russian Federation, which resulted in the successful implementation of a number of joint projects. In addition, in 2021, the Center for Russian Studies was opened at the Faculty of Philology, where the Russian language, history and culture are studied”.

EAU was established in 1989, with the aim of exchanging experiences, coordinating and organizing the joint work of universities for the purpose of improving the educational, methodological, research, cultural, educational and social activities of universities in Eurasia. EAU today is a significant international organization with over 140 member universities.

Visit to the Medical Research and Educational Center

A day later, during his stay in Moscow, Rector Gajanin visited the Medical Research and Educational Center of M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University.

The host of the visit was Prof. Ljalja Gabasova Adigamovna, PhD, Deputy Director for General Affairs. As part of the visit, the rector was presented with the modernly equipped departments of clinical pathology, microbiology and regenerative medicine, as well as the Center's biobank.

The rector talked with Prof. Adigamovna about mutual exchange of students and staff of the two institutions. In addition, he invited colleagues from the Medical Research and Educational Center to take part in the next year's scientific meetings held at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Banja Luka, and to present their latest achievements in research.
