Representatives of the University of Banja Luka took part in the NI4OS-Europe project and participated in a virtual workshop held on 8 July 2020, at which they discussed the future aspects pf the management and sustainability of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
In their presentations, the lecturers presented the vision, mission and goals of the Steering Committee of the European Open Science Cloud, as well as future plans and activities, and the building of the National Open Science Cloud (NOSC) with all the challenges ahead in the process.
The workshop brought together NI4OS-Europe partners and delegates of the Steering Board of the European Open Science Cloud from Southeast Europe with the aim of initiating dialogue and exchanging information on the role of the NI4OS-Europe project through the establishment of national open cloud science in the target region.
The first part of the workshop focused on presentations that provided insight into the current and future governance of the European Open Science Cloud, and on the role of national open science. The second part of the workshop was dedicated to short statements of key participants, representatives of the Steering Committee of the European Open Science Cloud from the partner countries of the NI4OS-Europe project. At the end of the workshop, a discussion was held during which the workshop participants had the opportunity to discuss aspects of cooperation within the European Open Science Cloud.
It is important to emphasize that the University of Banja Luka is the first university in the Republic of Srpska to have expressed interest in joining the European Open Science Cloud Association, in June 2020.
