On 8 November 2019, the representatives of the Fairnetzen Foundation Professor Clemens Jaeger, PhD, and Professor Erik Freer, PhD, talked with the students who have applied for scholarships from this foundation and the University of Applied Sciences of the German city Essen for the next school year.
Professor at the Faculty of Applied Sciences of Essen Clemens Jaeger, PhD, said that between 40 and 50 one-off scholarships amounting to EUR 200 will be awarded, and that the selection of applications filed by students is pending.
,,Since 2013, we have awarded 325 scholarships to students of the University of Banja Luka who have shown great potential for science and who desire to use that potential“, Clemens said.
He emphasized that students at the University of Banja Luka have favourable study conditions and great professors, and expressed his satisfaction with the fact that there is cooperation with the University of Banja Luka and that this cooperation will continue.
Vice Rector for International and Interuniversity Cooperation of the University of Banja Luka Professor Biljana Antunovic, PhD, emphasized how important these scholarships are for the students, who mostly come from socially vulnerable families.
She explained that 72 students applied for scholarships and that in the selection process, they primarily take into account the students’ social and economic situation.
,,In this way, we want to show that we care about them, and help them overcome their difficult life situations and continue to study and achieve good result“, Antunovic said to the reporters during the event held at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Banja Luka.
Meeting with the Rector
Prior to this event, the representatives of the Foundation also talked with the rector of the University of Banja Luka, Professor Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, on cooperation in the forthcoming period. This meeting was also attended by Vice Rector for International and Interuniversity Cooperation of the University of Banja Luka Professor Biljana Antunovic, PhD.
