World Mental Health Day under the slogan ’Autumn Mind Cleansing’ was marked from 7th to 12th October 2019 at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Banja Luka.
In marking the World Mental Health Day, organized in collaboration with local experts and guests from Sarajevo and Zagreb, altogether six lectures were given, three workshops held, and the event titled ’Living Library’ and the so called ,,speed dating” organized, where potential volunteers spoke with representatives of five charity organizations.
The aim of these events was to raise awareness of mental health issues. The theme selected by the World Health Organization for this year’s Day was suicide prevention, and special attention was given to lectures by psychologists from the ’Brave Phone for Children’ Association from Zagreb who talked about experiences in their work with children with suicidal tendencies.
The 'Autumn Mind Cleansing’ was held for the second time, organized by the graduate students of the second cycle of studies at the study program Psychology of the Faculty of Philosophy Gordana Ruzic and Danka Stojanovic. The event was supported by the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Banja Luka, and the Association of Psychologists of the Republic of Srpska.
