Delegation of the University of Banja Luka visited China

Dr. Goran Latinović, Associate Professor and Vice-Rector for Scientific Research and Development of the University of Banja Luka (UNIBL), and Dr. Predrag Ćeranić, Assistant Professor and Dean of Faculty of Security Science, visited Shanghai from 18th to 23rd of May 2019. They were invited by East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL) and their stay in Shanghai was organized by Mrs. Ljiljana Stević, Director of Confucius Institute in Banja Luka. 

During their stay in China, representatives of UNIBL talked to Cui Yong, Ph.D., a representative of Jiangsu University in Zhenjiang, and his associate from the International Exchange Office Dragana Ostić, Ph.D., who initiated an appointment and signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the two Universities. Jiangsu University was founded in 1902, it has around 2000 professors and researchers and around 34000 students on approximately 200 study programmes. Jiangsu University is devoted to creating a successful cooperation between science and economy, and therefore a special attention is given to study programmes within those disciplines.

Representatives of UNIBL were particularly warmly received in Rectorate of ECUPL in Shanghai, where they talked to Prof. Chen Jingying, Vice President, Prof. Ni Tie, Acting Dean of the School of Criminal Justice, Prof. Wang Weiquan, Associate Dean of the School of Political Science and Public Administration, and Prof. Ma Le, Deputy Director of International Exchange Center. After the two Universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2018, a new concrete step in developing of their mutual cooperation was a signing of the Agreement on Exchange of Academic Staff and Students. The two delegations talked about the improvement of cooperation in various fields, such as mutual projects and conferences, especially in security science. ECUPL was founded in 1952, it has around 1300 professors and researchers and around 18000 students within over 40 study programmes. ECUPL is particularly devoted to social sciences and humanities: law, political science, public administration, security science, criminology, sociology, social work, journalism, economy, Chinese language and literature, foreign languages, but also computer science and information technology. UNIBL representatives visited both ECUPL campuses: Changning and Songjiang. Professor Goran Latinović gave to Chinese students a lecture titled „The Foreign Policy of Yugoslavia during the Cold War (1945-1991)”.
