STINT project: UBL delegation at a two-day meeting

Delegation of the University of Banja Luka, led by the Vice-Rector for International and Interuniversity cooperation Prof. Dr. Biljana Antunović, participated in a two-day meeting within the international project “Strengthening internationalization at the higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina” (STINT) taking place in the Brčko District.

The final results of a three-year project were presented during the meetings on April 3rd and 4th, 2019, at the headquarters of the Faculty of Economics of the University of East Sarajevo in the Brčko District.

The results are presented through: analysis of the state of internationalization and international recognition of academic diplomas; development of strategies for internationalization; development of models for recognition of qualifications in higher education and diploma acceptance at various universities; testing new models of internationalization, and so on.

The University of Banja Luka proudly presented the International Cooperation module as a part of the Integrated Information System of the University of Banja Luka which will allow: joint register of academic, business and technical cooperation agreements; combined database of requirements needed for recognition of higher education documents at foreign institutions; interactive announcements of vacancies and scholarships, and the electronic application for the staff and students exchange programs.

The University of East Sarajevo organized this meeting.

Besides the Vice-Rector for International and Interuniversity cooperation, the delegates of the University of Banja Luka were: Djordje Kenjalo, Associate for staff and students exchange, Dr. Gordana Rokvić, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Dražana Tošić, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Mining, Dragana Zeljić, MA, Senior Assistant at the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Djordje Stojisavljević, MA, Assistant, and students Zoran Uljarević, Milica Mijatović and Suzana Obradović.

The STINT project involves all public universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the University of Banja Luka, as well as three universities from the countries of the European Union: KU Leuven - University of Leuven (Belgium), Buckinghamshire New University - New University of Buckinghamshire (United Kingdom Great Britain and Northern Ireland) and Instituto Politechnico do Porto - Polytechnic University of Porto (Portugal). Project partners are Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska, Ministry of Education and Science of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Agency for Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Agency for Accreditation of Higher Education Institutions of the Republic of Srpska, and Centre for Information and Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education.

The coordinator of the STINT project is KU Leuven, Belgium, and the coordinator of the activities of partners from Bosnia and Herzegovina is the University of East Sarajevo.
