Informative seminar and workshop on research program “Horizont 2020“

Faculty of Political Science of the University of Banja Luka, 13 and 14 May 2014, held an informative seminar and workshop on the EU's agenda for research and innovation for the period 2014 - 2020 - "Horizon 2020".



At the opening of the two-day event, which was organized through the project "Building capacity in BiH for European programs and initiatives for research and technological development"(RTDPI), funded by the EU, in cooperation with the Ministry of Civil Affairs BiH and the Ministry of Science and Technology RS, once it was pointed out that the participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina very important to start preparing projects or partnerships for "Horizon 2020" at an early stage, because it significantly increases the chance to participate and maximize the resources that were available by 2020. Recalling that the European Union within the program "Horizon 2020" at the disposal of around 80 billion euros of grants for research and innovation, Member States, and those aspiring to membership, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Minister of Science and Technology of the Republic of Srpska, Mr. Jasmin Komić stressed that such meetings allow a greater number of researchers and businessmen from the Republic of Srpska participation in the program "Horizon 2020".

    

Representative of the Ministry of Civil Affairs BiH, Dina Masnik said that BiH through the signing of an agreement on participation in this program can gain access to all kinds of projects, as was the case with the previous program, FP7, and reminded that those who drafted the project proposal and applied it to the European Commission, can also apply for a grant line Ministry of Civil Affairs BiH, since the Ministry of this type of support provided a budget of 250 thousand.

The participants of the seminar and workshop in Banja Luka welcomed the successful operation of the Vice-rector for science, research and development Prof. Dr Milan Mataruga. He pointed out that the University of Banja Luka is given a lot of attention to programs such as "Horizon 2020" which aims to support and promote science, research and development, especially to stimulate young researchers, as evidenced by the participation of the University in a number of international programs through which it provides support for science and research.



After the official part of the conference, Jurgen Henke, team leader of the project EU RTDPI, prof. Steve Quarri and Horizon 2020, the expert and trainer Bosko Nektarijević through their presentations the participants were offered the answers to the questions may have a benefit from the program "Horizon 2020", and gave numerous other useful information and advice in relation to this program.

Informative workshops and seminars on this subject previously held in Mostar and Sarajevo, and meeting in Banja Luka is the third of the kind in a row.
