Learning objectives
The basic aim of the course is to acquaint students with design, calculations and processes that must be performed before drilling wells
Learning outcomes
Practical knowledge of the student to be able to successfully program tools and equipment for drilling wells. Through the processed and elaborated phases of the programming process, the critical conditions in the exploitation life of the well are also considered as well as the control of the inflow of formation fluid into the well.
Content
Introductory lecture, familiarization of students with the goals and concept of the course, description of teaching and overview of teaching units, overview of recommended literature. Pressures in the well; Designing the surface column of casing; Designing a technical column of protective pipes; Designing technical and "liner" columns of casing; Designing the exploitation column of casing; Consideration of critical conditions during the exploitation life of the well; Tensile force when sitting in wedges, casing; Testing the hermeticity of casing; Testing the hermeticity of the equipment at the wellhead; Well Control; The „Driller‘s Method“; The „Wait and Weight method“; The "Concurrent method"; The „Bullheading“.
Teaching Methods
Teaching is performed through theoretical lectures, seminar work and colloquiums/tests. Also for students, consultations with the teacher and assistant are provided as an additional form of learning.
