IIn the scope of international cooperation, the University of Banja Luka devotes considerable attention to the exchange of students and staff as a part of the activities of the cooperation agreements, through international exchange programs, study visits, summer schools, workshops, seminaries and practice.

Erasmus+ (KA1) – The credit exchange is a program of the European Commission that offers universities the possibility to exchange students and staff. By program rules before realization of exchanges Inter-institutional agreement must be signed. University of Banja Luka participates in the program since its beginning in 2014 and has signed over 40 Inter-institutional agreements, within over 100 students and staff went in exchange. The student exchange can last from three (3) to twelve months for the purpose of study and two (2) to twelve months for the purpose of practice. The exchange of staff can last from five (5) days to two (2) months.

The University of Banja Luka has been a member of the so-called CEEPUS network (Central European Exchange Program for University Studies) since 2008. These activities are carried out in the cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republic of Srpska and the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina. So far, under this program, more than 350 students, professors and associates from the partner countries (Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Australia and Hungary) have been exchanged in both directions. Activities on the realization of this program are continuing in the following years through the realization of the program CEEPUS III.

Students of the University of Banja Luka have been conducting professional practice abroad for more than 15 years through IAESTE - International association for the exchange of students for technical experience. IAESTE Exchange Platform:

Erasmus Mundus was a program of the European Commission, that has ended and in which the University of Banja Luka participated since 2011. Under this program over 70 students and staff had the opportunity to go into exchange. 

Students and staff of the University of Banja Luka use other scholarship opportunities of different programs government of foreign countries and international organizations and foundations.
