Meeting with postgraduate from Shinshu University

Professor Biljana Antunović, PhD, Vice-Rector for International and Interuniversity Cooperation at University of Banja Luka, held a meeting on December 03, 2018 with Hironori Sugiyama, a postgraduate from Shinshu University in Nagano (Japan).

The meeting was held in the Rectorate premises, with the focus on cooperation between the two higher education institutions, which came as a result of Memorandum of Understanding signed on June 26, 2015.

The meeting with the Vice-Rector was also attended by Suzana Gotovac-Atlagić, PhD, assistant professor at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and the postgraduate’s mentor during the exchange.

Since the signing of the Memorandum, three students from our University attended Shinshu University. Besides the students, two of our teaching staff members also stayed in Japan. Furthermore, student exchange was also achieved with Hironori Sugiyama’s arrival in Banja Luka.

The greatest achievement of the cooperation between the two universities was the receival of UNESCO’s Green Chemistry award and conclusion of another important project.

Hironori Sugiyama, a postgraduate student in his first year of PhD study, spends his days in laboratories of Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at University of Banja Luka.
